MATRICULATION to hold on the 5th of June

matriculation of fresh students into Adekunle Ajasin university has been fixed to come up on the 5th of June. All 100L students are adviced to complete their registration before the said date. Congratulations on your admission

Facebook Post of the day by Reformer

Hmmm

What Have I Done? (SUG President Post Protest Statement)

This is due to what happened on Monday, As the SUG pres. And other people were on their way to Akure for the burial of the guy that lost his life, they were attacked by some students at supare junction.

The Ambulance was in front, AAUA coaster bus in middle and Sug bus last. As they approached supare junction, some students started hitting the busses with sticks shouting 'we don't want reformer' thank God the army quickly intervene and put everything back to norm.

Find the full statement below

You all gave me the mandate, authority, power to make decisions as the Student Union President. Immediately the incident occured, I deemed it fit to go to all lecture rooms and declare that day
Lecture Free. We gathered at the RC Car park to start a peaceful protest to the Palace to report the Issue and after I
called my students back on campus. I decided we should have a peaceful protest I should also decide when it should end.

I took the decision because of the Security condition of the country, I can't afford to expose my student to danger, my fear that day was not to lose another student. We all know the police are
careless, the life bullets they shot that day may have hit any student.
The consequences of such we can't afford, there will be total shut down of the school causing the calendar to be distrupted and we don't want that.

We were still mourning a student, if another one gets killed because of protest it will be a big deal. And that what am trying to avoid. And that's why I
called my students back on campus.
Some withdrew while some didn't and went ahead to barricade the road and went ahead to the NEPA Office to destroy their documents.

I believe if we are to champion the struggle for electricity it should have been a separate entity not for us to attach it to the present struggle. We
can't fight a cause that's not justified.
I want to say am not happy with what happened on Monday, everybody is not happpy but my position as the SUG President must be respected. And that is what I demand from AAUITES..

On my way to Akure with Union leaders and mother of the victim for the burial, some students barricaded and wanted to mob me, it was the Military that intervened before we could move
ahead. That's why am asking 'What Have I Done', what has Reformer done to get that kind of embarrassment, they wanted to beat me, kill me. What have I done. Or what do you expect me to
do? Tell them to embark on violent protest and destroy properties? NOOOOOO!!!.

As am taking down this statement am on my way to Akure to explain why the protest triggered. It was simply because of the immature role played by the Policemen that triggered the anger of
Nigerian Students. But military personnel came with their level of maturity and they calmed everything down, they talked to students and calmed everyone down.

Even students were glad
to see them around. And I believe that what police should have done
instead of just coming to start shooting at us. It was a peaceful demonstration, why should police shoot at us, we had no weapon with us, it was just a peaceful demonstration to the palace, why
should policemen act like that, they are suppose to work with us, I was surprised when I saw the DPO with them. He saw me, I was trying to speak to him to tell his men to calm down, instead he grabbed his pistol and threatened to shoot me. Imagine DPO that was suppose to orientate his men on what to do.

I believe police shouldn't even have come around with guns and firearm. We were out on a peaceful protest but they worsen the situation.

I want AAUITES to know Information and
Communication is vital. It can make or destroy. Always get your facts right before coming to report.

The info we got earlier was that it was Agolo that hit the victim and ran away and another Agolo that was used to rush him to the hospital. It was actually a Toyota Car that hit him and the driver
went to the station to report himself.
On tuesday again some students started
gathering saying another student was missing, meanwhile no one was missing the girl was actually in town. Students should know they are not policemen or the school authority, and protest
won't bring any missing person back. We
shouldn't forget the chibok girls situation.

This morning (tuesday) I went around the health centre to look at the health of our students that were affected by the tear gas. 13 was brought to the health centre and as at now, just 2 students
are left waiting to be discharged today (tuesday). There are no Casualties, no property destroyed, and we have comported ourselves. Peace is back
in Akungba, Free flow of vehicles, Traders back with their businesses and everything is going on smoothly.

This is my report to AAUITES on the Monday Protest, God Bless AAUA, God Bless Ondo State, God Bless Nigeria. Thank You.
This statement was taken down by AAUAAMEBO.

Police Detains 7 AAUA Students illegally

Following the Robbery at Rock view and Bed rock hostel late last night, the police have detained 7 students.

Victims of the robbery reported the case to the police stating that the robbers ran into powerChamber hostel after the crime.

Police paraded the hostel and asked the seven boys to write a state on what they probably know nothing about and thereafter detained them.

Am not sure if the Authority knows about it yet as the incidence is still very fresh.

Segun Adesuyan's killer reports self to station, Management wants Normalcy Back on Campus

The students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, trooped to the streets in the early hours of today (Monday, May 26), to protest the
killing of one of their fellow students on Akungba main road by a Toyota Corolla car late last night.

The students' spontaneous reaction was sparked by misinformation that the deceased was knocked down by a mini bus called agollo in the local parlance and that the assailant driver ran away.

This misinformation has since been refuted by the Police who confirmed that the driver reported himself at the Police station and that he and the Toyota Corolla car were in their custody.
This clarification has calmed the nerves of the rampaging students and the situation has since been brought under control.

The student's corpse has been released to the parents and has since been buried. The University expresses deep condolences to the family of the deceased, the student body and the
entire University community on the unfortunate loss of the promising young man.

The University would like to appeal to all students to go about their normal academic activities as peace has now returned to the campus.

Signed
Bamidele Olotu,
Registrar

Agolo Victim Segun Adesuyan Buried in Akure this evening

I have to say this before any other thing -May his Gentle soul Rest in Peace. *tears*

His corpse was moved to his parents at Akure this evening for the burial. Before the ambulance got there, people were already outside crying in the heavy rain *what a pity* really sad.

The dean of students affairs, the students president, vp, the senate president, deputy senate president and some, his departmental president and some sug members were all present at the burial. Am really very sad, e touch me gaan.

What a great lost.

Re- An Appeal To Comrade Blackey -Comrade Blackey

"So much more the pitiful are theoreticians, that exchange shell for kernel as an appearance of reality". It is amazingly ludicrous that a set of 'armshire journalist' on campus turned themselves into a colony of devil's advocates in their reports.

Although it is an unprofitable enterprise to join issues with these questionable reporter, but for the sake of posterity I find it imperative to give a response to the article titled
"An Appeal To Comrade Blackey" which aim is perceived to be a deliberate attempt to malign my personality and drag it to the mud.

Truly, the Ismaila Waliu Alao (Mandela) led administration bought a mini-van as incentive for Nigerian students with the aim of alleviating students suffering in terms of transportation as against the tradition of exploitation exemplified by previous administrations through production of note books as incentives.

The mini-van acquired by Mandela's administration was handed over to Adeniyi Julius Gbenga (Julius Ceasar) in good condition.

However, I was the chairman of transport committee. As the chairman of the transport committee, I stand bold to be corrected, that the Julius Ceasar administration deliberately neglected the bus so as to count political scores, ternish and undermine the efforts of Mandela's administration incentive as a result of pressure from the Students' Affairs Division.

In every organisation or association, the president as the head takes responsibility and he is answerable to any question posted to such organisation or as the case may be. Therefore if Adeniyi Julius can not answer questions on the whereabout of the Mandela incentive, he has successfully displayed his high level of leadership impotency. Moreover, it is quite unfortunate that the reporter could not subscribe to investigative journalism and some ethics of journalism such as objectivism and the rule of law (fair hearing) like our friends in the faculty of law will say "audi uterem pettem"(do not leave one side unheard).

The question of if the bus (Mandela's incentive) was sold for Blackey's campaign or if it has been dashed out to some people, been posted to me is a case of judgement before hearing. The question ought to be where is the bus? As there is no smoke without fire. Furthermore, as the chairman of transport committee and a parliamentarian with responsibility of making recommendations.

To whom it may concern, the recommendations of the committee has been delivered at the open sitting which took place on 15th April at the relaxation centre and was also pasted on notice boards around the campus for students digestion.

An Appeal To Comrade Blackey -Voice of Nasels

Every Students' Union administration, so far, on finishing their tenure had in one way or another provide the Nigerian students with one form of incentive or another. The 2011/2012 session which was led by com.Waliu (Mandela) having served the Nigerian students for a whole session bought a 'bus' incentive worth closely #1,000,000 (one million naira). The bus was handed over to com. Adeniyi Julius (Ceasar),2012/2013 regime.

At the beginning of the tenure all that was on the mouth of every Nigerian Student is based on the poor look of the incentive produced by the previous administration.

After constituting the Senate members of the Students' Representative Council of the Julius Ceasar's regime into different committee,a presidential candidate of the last SU election and a member of the SRC Com. Ayodele (Blackey) was made chairman transportation committee. Blackey saw to the flow and the condition of the said bus bought by Mandela regime.

As said by the immediate past SU president "Blackey was instructed to watch over the mini-van and we asked him not to take it out of Akungba environs but as fate would have it, the comrade-senator did his own care of the car, took it to lagos and never brought it back to school.

So long can be an activity, but as the SU levy paid by the entire Nigerian student will definitely ask for the right that belong to them. Therefore, this appeal goes to the Students' Union officials led by com. Ikumapayi (Reformer) as well as the Student Representative Council members led by Sen. Oloruntobi Tomide (Tommy) to find and produce lost materials for it will be dignifying to have our materials produced by the past leaders around us;whether in good condition or not; or else this administration shall be easily considered an absolute failure.

If man have to lie for 20years,the truth will surely catch-up on him someday, the status of Com. Waliu (Mandela) incentive to the Nigerian

Students' should be known. Is the bus sold for Blackey's campaign,is it dashed out to some people, or is it that the President hides it away from us. We wait the Comrade-Senator Blackey to give an answer to this.

Detailed report on AAUA crisis over killed Student

If you missed my first post on this topic check here http://exploreaaua.blogspot.nl/2014/05/breaking-news-agolo-hits-student-dead.html?m=1

Trouble started when students were mobilised in the streets of Akungba protesting against the killing of their colleague, a 200L MCB student that was killed in an accident.

8 students fainted when the police Force and Army opened teargas and were shooting sporadically into the air. Reports reaching Exploreaaua now states that the patients are responding to treatment and 2 of them have been discharged.

Addressing the angry students, the SUG president in person of Reformer gave the students assurance that everything has been put to order and that the campus is safe. He said he and his crew went to the palace and they gave Akungba community an ultimatum of 24hrs to produce the driver of the bus that killed the student because it was learnt that the suspect fled after the crime.

Meanwhile, the victim of the accident is lying in the morgue at Ikare. May his soul rest in Peace. :( Lectures has been suspended for today. Work starts tomorrow.

Let's us pray for AAUA #SayNoToViolence

The SRC held its First meeting for 2013/2014 session today.

Today was the first meeting of the SRC so all Senators introduced their selves to the house.

The president of the SRC made it clear that no student should pay #30 to any tricycle operator. The issue to make the tricycle Free for students came up but after a long review, it was however agreed to subsidise it (which was not concluded at the meeting). For now students are to pay #20 at any stop.

Speaking on ondo state bursary, the SRC president made it clear that he contacted chairman of ondo state bursary and scholarship, the chairman said funds that was put in his care for the bursary was insufficient although steps has been taken to ensure all eligible students of AAUA are paid.

Drama started when the Leader of Christ embassy campus fellowship and some worshippers walking into the hall with the intentions to hold a fellowship ..eheh drama..and after a short argument, the Christian worshippers stepped down for the sitting to continue. This however made Senator Josakin put up the motion that Bodies using the hall for various programmes should be reduced.

Btw, I hear there's a commission fee of #550 on payment of school fee and banks claim only #150 is meant for commission. Where is the #400 going to?is this another way of increasing our school fees?

How AAUAITE sold her friend for 100k to Ritualists

This story has been around for some days now. A student of adekunle Ajasin university allegedly sold her friend to some people that uses humans to make money.

On the said day, the seller told the sold to follow her to a neighbouring town, and they both got on a bike. On getting to the location, the girls went inside a building and asked the bikeman to wait for his money.

After sometime, the seller came out with plenty money but without the other girl this made the bikeman suspicious. He started questioning her and after much argument the girl couldn't produce her friend.

Trouble started when the bikeman forced her to the police station. The SUG president and some others were at the police station yesterday, am yet to get details about the issue the police are still investigating. I will bring you more information when due.

Is Being Smart The Same As Being Intelligent?

Saw this interesting post as I was playing around internet

Often, the phrases 'you're smart!' and 'you're intelligent!' are used severally and/or interchangeably. But on a deeper introspection, the words, 'smart' and 'intelligent' actually bear different meanings.

In my opinion, being intelligent applies to the academic field and refers to someone who's good at academics, someone with good analytical skills required for tackling academic issues and problems.

Smartness, on the other hand, refers to having the common sense or sharp sense of reasoning to navigate the ups and downs of life, and knowing how to do the right thing at the right time to get what one wants.

While intelligence measures your academic ability and academic success, smartness measures your ability to identify and apply common sense in life to achieve what you want in life. In life, you often meet

these 3 sets of people:

- the very intelligent people who are exceptional at academics but are not actually smart(good in academics but timid on the streets, lacking social
skills to get along/interact with others, and the common sense required to survive on the streets ie not street smart). Examples are, for example, a
professor with many degrees and levels of academic success who still cannot balance his check book or cannot manage his finances to get him to a
financially comfortable level.

- the very smart people who are exceptional in applying common sense in life but are only averagely intelligent in academics. Speak with them and they amaze you with their great deal of
common sense and knowledge about how to get by in life, understand and manage people, etc) but academically they are only average. An example
would be people who were seen as 'average' in school but who went on to build successful companies, businesses, or land amazing jobs because they had the common sense and social skills to get along in life and network with the right set of people.

- the smart and intelligent people at the same time -these people are intelligent and also street-savvy. They combine intelligence with common sense.
These people are successful in their chosen fields of endeavour. An example would be Mrs. Okonjo Iweala, who is both intelligent and smart at the same time.
I think smartness is the application of intelligence or intelligence in motion. One cannot be smart if one isn't intelligent, at least, a little bit. To be smart, you need some level of intelligence, albeit how small it
is.

These are only my opinions.
What are your opinions? What do you think?

Today was SUG INAUGURATION...EXPLOREAAUA was there and Had an interview with the pres. (bursary, electricity ..read full story!!)

As the elected SUG president and other members of the crew resumed office today, they held a little celebration at the students union building, I had to interview the senior man in his office.

In the interview he spoke about how happy he is to have a lot of followers as it was Not by his power. He said at the day of election, he had only 100 naira with him -this obviously means his people loved him not because of money.

When asked about what students should expect from his administration he replied 'the primary needs of students is electricity' (this actually brought a smile to my face) and that he is willing to do all in his power to put that in place.

On the issue of Bursary, he said there is a guarantee that the bursary will be paid even to the students already graduated. I went on to ask the usual question 'when' he replied he couldn't tell when exactly.

There's more details in the interview I have it on tape those on my bbm can ping me for it. Btw fee structure for new students is in my previous post. Check it
