7tips to Stay Focused in school

Staying focused in class is not always easy, but it is doable. It is a very useful technique that, once learned, you'll find applies to the wider world of church sermons, university lectures, boardroom
speeches, et cetera. Keeping alert in class also helps ensure that you learn there, and don't have to labor as much over your homework; that is surely a
benefit worth gaining!

1.         Speak to your mind. If you're worrying about a million things while trying to do your work or something, tell your thoughts you'll get back to them later or don't think about them at all and focus on the things the matters most. While it sounds weird, if you map out your
thinking time, you will feel as if you don't have to juggle all your thoughts at once. Try writing a list of all non-study things on your mind, then promise to do them later.

2.        Clear your desk. You can't expect your brain to focus if there's heaps of stuff on your desk. Have a spring cleaning to create minimal distractions. Just get the things you need for your work.

3.         If you find your mind starting to wander in class, look at the clock . Tell yourself to focus on your teacher for the next ten minutes. If you're truly focusing, you won't notice the ten minute pass! Continue doing this every ten minutes until it is not needed.

4.         Eat well, sleep a lot, and exercise, and
you'll be a lot more focused . Your brain
needs the energy and rest to perform at its best.

5.          Realize that only you can make yourself bored . The teacher cannot make you bored; you choose to be bored. If you don't choose to be bored, then class will go by more quickly for
you.

6.          Avoid friends. Try to avoid your friends for while in class time so you won't get distracted, have time for yourself and socialize with your friends when class time is over.

7.         Make a to-do list. Make a to-do list and prioritize it. Sometimes we can do lots of little things without actually getting
anything major done, because we haven't focused them down to a small and achievable set. Around seven things to do is optimal for a day.

MOTIVATIONAL: IT IS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

There was a man taking a morning wa lk at or the beach. He saw that along with the morning tide came hundreds of starfish and when the tide receded, they
were left behind and with the morning sun rays, they would die. The tide was fresh and the starfish were alive. The man took a few steps, picked one and
threw it into the water. He did that repeatedly. Right behind him there was another person who couldn't understand what this man was doing. He caught up
with him and asked, "What are you doing? There are hundreds of starfish. How many can you help? What difference does it make?" This man did not reply, took two more steps, picked up another one, threw it into the water, and said, "It makes a difference to this
one." What difference are we making? Big or small, it does not matter. If everyone made a small difference, we'd
end up with a big difference, wouldn't we?

it's really true if a person remains waiting for a big opportunity he might not be able to do nothing. better to first try small things and then make them big with effort.
Sometimes we believe that we have to do great things in life to make a difference, not realising that simple things such as common courtesy,
people greatly appreciate. Let this apply in your daily life, do not measure how small things are just act. As a student, you might feel it doesn't mean anything if you read just a page of your note but fact remains that to that subtopic you read about it means a lot because its been registered in your brain.
