US Transparency International Standards (USTIS) ranks AAUA Best state university in Nigeria ...FULL story Inside!

The US Transparency International Standards, USTIS, has ranked Adekunle Ajasin University,
Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, the best State University in Nigeria.
The result was contained in the preliminary results from the USTIS 2013 Coordinated Nigeria Schools' Survey, the world body's school ranking initiative.

Only last month, AAUA came first nationally in the 2013 Annual Youth Debate for Nigerian Tertiary Institutions organized by the Federal Ministry of Education.

The National University Commission voted AAUA the Best State University in 2005 in terms of the quality of academic staff after carrying out its
(NUC's) carrying-capacity survey that year.
AAUA has, from 2011, had 100 per cent accreditation of its programmes by the National Universities Commission to date! Adekunle Ajasin University came into world reckoning following the strategic initiative of the
incumbent Vice Chancellor, Professor Femi Mimiko, who built the plank of his administration on "building a 21st century University, properly called!." Through the initiative, the University
which relocated to a temporary site in 1999, has become an infrastructure and academic haven. Between 2010 when Professor Mimiko took office
and now, the University has taken delivery of over 60 projects as a deliberate attempt to address the acute challenges of space.

The University championed merit-driven admission and staff appointment policies in Nigeria to shore up the integrity of its
programmes. In his reaction, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Femi Mimiko, expressed appreciation to God for
allowing the modest contributions of his administration to attract world recognition.
"It is really a thing of joy that our modest contributions to educational development and humanity have attracted attention and recognition. As a University, we give all the glory
to God. I would also like to appreciate the Visitor to the University and Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, for the robust support he
accorded and continues to accord the University.
"I cannot thank the University immediate past Council under the leadership of the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Barrister
Dan Nwanyanwu, OFR, mni, enough for direction and support.
"Words are inadequate to thank the staff and students of the University for their priceless contributions to the attainment of this feat. I dedicate this achievement to them."

SUG Election; Blackey, Kpuppsy and others out of race, couldn't meet the requirements choi!

Others include Fash, AlexandRite e.t.c.
Well this is funny to me because I wonder how an aspirant will press on ambition when they know they're not up to the task, a second thought makes me think they were blackmailed.

The big guys got screened when it was observed their CGPA couldn't meet up with the 2.5 CGPA stated for anyone who wants to compete in the SUG elections.

Read what comrade blackey said after being screened below in quote

"I av a zeal and passion for service and I think I cud exemplify the leadership qualities for the ultimate benefit of mankind. Very unfortunate that some political enemies did what they know how to do best. Hence I announce my decision to discontinue my campaign in the forthcoming SUG POLL in AAUA. I appeal to my teaming supporters to take heart as tomorrow contains more joy than we expected. Aluta continua.....BLACKEY"

After 11yrs and Still Counting In prison, Tuwanse Kabiru bags degree in open university

The moral of this story is very simple, if a prisoner on death roll can do this I see no reason why you shouldn't do more because there's nothing like freedom. Two things you should note here

1. He had the time and endurance to study
2. Even when it was obvious that his life will end soon, he still had the hope and kept trying.

This is what I always talk about, you see it is never too late you be what you wanna be, failure doesn't mean you can't succeed at the end.

Kabiru is a middle aged man serving life term at kirikiri prison. He was found guilty of murder. At the 3rd convocation of National Open university in Lagos, he came in company of prison officials to claim his degree.
Read what he said below

"I want to thank God for what he is doing
in my life. I have always had hope in God
and that is what inspired me to enroll. I
was actually imprisoned after being found guilty of committing murder and I have served 11 years so far."

"I am still hopeful that things will
turnaround one day for the better having
achieved what I have today,"

I don talk my own finish.
